Yesterday evening close to dark I noticed a turkey vulture had perched in a tree behind our house. I wondered if he would roost there for the night and when I got up this morning he was still there and posed for a few pictures.
These large birds are not uncommon and are often seen feeding on road kill- a thankless job at best. Read more about turkey vultures at wikipedia.
