Crossover

Amsterdam must have numerous bicycle fabrication shops considering what big business bicycles are in this town. I saw this bike in the window of a shop and stopped in to have a look. They are mostly made to order. The "engine" is a battery and the motor is actually enclosed in the front hub ready to offer an assist when needed.  An additional battery can be fitted to a rear rack. Top speed is 45 kph.

House guests

A window was left open in a Winchester, England residence.  The resident had not been in the room for several months.  During that time a swarm of 5000 wasps built a nest that was three feet wide and a foot deep.  The wasps were also chewing through the pillows and into the mattress.

Living on the water

There are lots of people living on the water in Amsterdam... probably because there is an abundance of water.  I am sure there are drawbacks to living in a structure like this, but it certainly is beautiful.  Additional images here.
