1946 Larmar

The Larmar was produced in England from 1946 to 1951.  It was initially powered by a 250cc BSA engine before switching to another BSA engine of 350cc. It was a single seater invalid car capable of 35mph. It was only 28 1/2" which enabled it to fit through doorways.

Found on the Titanic

They recently did a full scale scan of what is left of the Titanic. One of the photographs revealed a necklace made from a megalodon tooth found in the wreckage. Read the story here.

I was disappointed that they failed to point out the very early prototype maquette of the Big Bird character resting near it

Le Mans Hotshot Crosley

Crosley was an auto company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Most people don't realize that it had a racing history associated with its short production run.

A Crosley Hotshot raced against the sports cars from Europe and won the first sports car race at Sebring. It's true, read the story here.

Encouraged by the Hotshot's victory at Sebring two enthusiasts decided that Crosley should prepare a car for the 24 Hours at Le Mans. Powel Crosley Jr. was hesitant about the project until he realized that the Le Mans organization was open to the idea. At that point it was game on. Read that story here.

GMC

         vectorimage
I have admired this truck sitting idle for several years at the edge of a summer farm market. It recently has been pulled out and sits in front of the stand. It appears to have an extra long bed. The rear fender has been modified and it looks like it was done to carry two LPG cylinders. There is also winch under the bed. The wooden floor of the bed is in bad condition but otherwise the truck seems to be rock solid.
