Security personnel at the Louvre staged a one day work stoppage on Wednesday in protest of the increasing problems of pickpockets in the museum. The Louvre grants free admission to children. Gangs of Eastern European children have been using the cover of the large crowds to avoid apprehension after threatening visitors and guards. When they are collared they present a judicial problem because they are minors and not French citizens.
