Yesterday's post talked about Anita King and explained that in 1915 she was the first woman to drive alone from coast to coast. However, Alice Huyler Ramsey made her coast to coast drive in 1909. She had three friends that accompanied her, although none of the three could drive. Alice was twenty two at the time. I think the promotional photo makes it appear that they are headed to a party.
