Rare rat

I think it is safe to assume that this evolved from a kit, but I don't think you will see too many Cobra rats.

I don't need no stinkin' truck

I saw this guy sitting at the pumps for an extended amount of time and asked if I could help. He indicated his battery had failed and would appreciate a jump. He already had jumper cables attached and it was fairly simple to get him rolling again. We laughed about the load. He explained he was on his way to drop it off at a place that had a reasonable rate for running it through their chipper.

1957 Gaylord Gladiator

In 1957 this German made vehicle was the dream of the American Gaylord brothers. Even hardcore auto enthusiasts may not have heard of the Gladiator. Only one car was produced. Perhaps the major stumbling block was the cost- it was priced at two times the cost of a Mercedes SL. Read the story here.

Old timer

100 years ago a journalist named John Bolster along with his brother scavenged enough parts to built "Bloody Mary". It was chain driven. Originally set up with two JAP motorcycle engines it was later converted to a Harley V-twin. The original parts accumulation was at a cost of 25 pounds sterling. The car survives to this day.

Beach runner

This was the first car to travel 100mph. In 1904 Louis Rigolly drove the car to over 100mph on a beach in Belgium as there were no roads at the time that were suitable for the attempt. The car was a Gobron-Brillie racing car powered by a 3.5 litre four cylinder engine.
