SPA TM40

 

The SPA TM40 was an Italian artillery tractor. Powered by a Fiat 9.4 liter 6 cylinder diesel engine producing 110HP. It featured four wheel drive and four wheel steering. It was used by both the German and Italian armies to move field artillery pieces during WWII

1953 Porsche 356 custom limousine

Byron Kauffman designed this one-off Porsche limousine for John Dixon for his daughter's wedding. It was built by Don Boeke at Egyptian Custom Body in Dayton, Ohio. The donor car was a basket case 356 Porsche that had been destroyed by corrosion.  All of the body fabrication was done in house while the interior was outsourced. The original 356 engine was replaced with a rebuilt Porsche 912 engine.

The DKW Schnellaster (Rapid Transporter) was in production in various forms from 1949 until 1962. Most were driven by a two-stroke engine powering the front wheels. There were also some that were battery powered: DKW Elektro.

The Ballot 3/8 LC was developed following World War 1 in France. It competed in the 1919 Indianapolis 500 as well as a number of Grand Prix races after that. It was designed by Ernest Henry. It was powered by a 3 liter 8 cylinder engine with dual overhead camshafts. It had four valves per cylinder. It was a very technically advanced engine for its time. It had limited racing victories but was an important step in the evolution of racing engines at the time.

The panoramic top from a 1965 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser was married to a 1962 Thunderbird to create the VistaBird. The mating required 400 hours of work. Power is supplied by a 1969 Ford 390 V-8.

 Apparently the new aerodynamic design of the 1949 Nash Airflyte reduced road noise dramatically and was very popular with the car buying public. Sales of the Airflyte doubled over the previous 1948 model year.

Sporting trial car racing is a popular form of British motorsport. The cars must be RWD and have an open differential. They are required to run on street tires. The engine must be normally aspirated and not exceed 1650cc.

Everything including the kitchen sink
