Shorpy.com has some great photographs, and they sell prints.
This photo was taken in June of 1940 in front of the Pie Town post office. The post office was a stop on the Socorro-Springerville Express. It was a run of about 150 miles that operated six days a week. On this trip they had boxes of chicks strapped to the rear bumper.
These photos caught my eye because I had the opportunity to pass through Pie Town back in 2000. Pie town is about as rural as it gets in the Southwest. While I don't believe the Express still runs I don't think much development has taken place in the last eighty years.
