This is the type of drag racing that you found in the 1960's Gas Classes. I lost interest in drag racing when bracket racing was introduced. There were rules and restrictions but basically the weight of the car and the displacement of the engine determined which class you were in. There was a subclass in each if you bolted a supercharger on the engine. I had a family friend that raced B and C Gas Supercharged at Quaker City Drag Strip in Salem, Ohio. Sunday afternoon at the races was a great time.
