The Comete was built by Ford in France between 1951 and 1954. The body work was done by Facel and initially was powered by a 2.2 liter V8 and increased to 2.4 liters in 1954. In 1954 they introduced the Monte Carlo which featured a 3.9 liter V8. The Comete suffered from high cost and competition from more established luxury brands. Total production was around 3,000.
