The Texaco Doodlebugs were built in the 1930's. Powered by a Hercules six cylinder engine that was mounted in the rear of the Diamond T chassis. The bodies were made by Heil Trailer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The clutch and transmission were actuated by air pressure. A microphone in the engine compartment connected to a speaker in the cab allowed the driver to hear the engine and know when to shift gears.
