The Ogle SX1000 was introduced in 1961 while the Lightwieght GT followed in 1962. David Ogle would take a customer's BMC Mini and rebody it. The cars used the Mini Cooper 997cc engine. The British Motor Corporation initially refused to supply Ogle with new parts but eventually relented with the stipulation that the BMC Mini could not be mentioned in Ogle's promotional material.
David Ogle was killed in a traffic accident while driving a Lightweight GT to the Brands Hatch racing circuit. Production was ceased and the last assembled cars were sold in 1963. Total production on Ogle cars was 69.
