Citroen Kegresse Track

Adolphe Kegresse (1879-1943) was a French engineer that moved to Saint Petersburg, Russia to work for Tsar Nicholas II. He designed the Kegresse Track to convert motor vehicles into half-tracks. Following WWI Kegresse was forced to return to his country. He was employed by Citroen during the 1920s and 1930s to continue designing half-tracks.

The Icelandic Road Administration imported a Citroen-Kegresse model P15N in 1930. They then ordered three more as rolling chassis and had the bodywork added by an Icelandic coachbuilder. These half-tracks were used to transport people and goods over high mountain passes during winter when the roads were unpassable in regular vehicles. This Kegresse Track is supposedly the best preserved P15N in the world.
