Decades ago this configuration was something found in Australia's Outback. The heavy front bumper was protection from kangaroo strikes. Before the advent of cell and satellite phones the antennas were needed to maximise reception in the vast Outback should you need rescued. Vehicles like this in today's Australia are simply put together for the attention they garner.
