Andre Ricou built this car from a crashed Citroen DS 19. The original chassis was sectioned- the result was a shortened wheelbase.
He had built an earlier car but this one was lighter and had improved aerodynamics. The Citroen's front wheel drive and hydropneumatic suspension made it competitive at hill climbs and in the snow.
The engine was upgraded to 120 hp. The original DS 19 weighed 2725 lbs (1236 kg) while the Barquette tipped the scales at 1650 lbs (748 kg). The raced in the 2 liter class and had a top speed of 125 mph (201 kmh). The car finished well in its class.
