Joe Patrali was perhaps one of the greatest motorcycle racers. In 1937 he set a land speed record on the sands of Daytona Beach. He reached a speed of 136.183 mph. That record held until 1948 when Rollie Free rad a Vincent HRD Black Shadow to a speed of 150.313 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
