General Lee Chargers

The Dukes of Hazzard ran for seven seasons. In that time a General Lee went airborne more than 150 times. The car rarely survived the jump. On average two Dodge Chargers were totaled for each episode. When the series ended it is estimated that 300 Chargers had starred as the General Lee.

Rolls Royce 103 EX concept

Pontiac Mera

 

The Pontiac Mera was offered by Pontiac in 1987. The venture was not endorsed by General Motors and Ferrari issued a cease and desist. A total of 247 Meras were produced. They were not a kit car. Pontiac built the cars using new Fieros. Additional information is at pontiacmera.com

Russian offering

This vehicle is apparently for sale in a Russian marketplace site. Little information is available other than it may have started life as LuAZ 969.

The LuAZ 969 was available from 1966 until 1996. 1Cars.org has an extensive write up on the vehicles, but not many good things to say about it.

Renault Filante Record 2025

1956 Etoile Filante 

 

The Filante Record 2025 debuted yesterday at the Retromobile auto show in Paris. It measures 5.12 meters (16.8 ft.) long 1.19 meters (3.9 ft.) tall and weighs 1000 kilograms (2200 pounds). Renault says it is based on the 40 CV des Records and the Etoile Filante both of which set new records for the company.

In the next few months the electric vehilce will serve as a demo car hoping to set new records in efficiency. Its design is ultra aerodynamic and the body maximizes the use of carbon fiber. In an effort to reduce weight the team used Scalmalloy which is an aluminum alloy that is specifically designed to be 3D printed.

The Veraneio was the Brazilian version of the Suburban. This design was offered in 1964 through 1989.

1939 Russian ZiS 101A Sport Coupe

 

The first photo is the original car from 1939. It was built on the chassis of a seven passenger sedan. It had an 8 cylinder engine that developed 141 horsepower and it had a 3 speed transmission. Top speed was 100mph. The car disappeared during WWII.

The second photo is a replica that was built by a group of enthusiasts who worked from photos and technical drawings of the car.
