Cybertruck

I am not a big fan of the Cybertruck as offered in the stainless steel. Dressed in black and aftermarket wheels makes it a little more attractive to me.

1957 Scootacar

The Scootacar was built using a fiberglass shell and powered by a 197cc two stroke engine using a four speed motorcycle gearbox driving the rear wheel with a chain. It was capable of 50 mph. Steering was achieved with a set of handlebars. It could carry two people side by side but was a tight fit. Alternately the passenger could be seated behind the driver. More information is here.

1935 Mercedes Benz 500K

Mercedes commissioned the coachbuilders Erdmann and Rossi to build this car for the 1935 Exhibition in Barcelona. King Ghazi of Iraq attended the event and wanted to buy the car. Mercedes declined his offer to buy that car but agreed to have another built for the king. Both cars exist today. Read more here.

1984 ZBR Diavolino

The Diavolino (Little Devil) was the successor to the Lawil S3 . The front was designed to resemble the American Jeep. The vehicle was quite successful in Switzerland where it could be driven by 16 year olds. An effort to expand production an enter the world market failed due to financial problems.

1991 Nissan Figaro

The Figaro was made for the Japanese market. It was only in production for one year and 20,073 vehicles were made. All were right hand drive and several thousand were imported as grey market cars to England and Ireland. Additional information at Wikipedia.
 

1941 Chrysler Thunderbolt

The Thunderbolt was a concept vehicle  produced by the coachbuilders LaBaron. It was introduced at the 1940 New York Auto Show. Total production was five cars. it had an aluminum body on a steel frame. The Spitfire 6 cylinder engine produced 143 hp and the transmission was a semi automatic fluid drive 3 speed.

1975 Fiat Baldi "Frog"

The Fiat Baldi was introduced as a solution to increasing traffic congestion. It was produced from 1973 until 1975 and only 300 were made. It is powered by a 125cc Lambretta scooter engine through a 4 speed transmission driving the rear wheels.

MAZ-541 aircraft tug

 When the Soviets produced the Tu-104 and the Tu-114 aircraft they needed a much larger "tug" to move them around.  They developed the MAZ-541 in 1956 and used it until 1970. It was 36 feet long and weighed 28 tons. Only three were produced.

1957 Smyk

The Smyk was produced in Poland. It had a rear mounted motorcycle engine so there was no trunk space. It had a single door that tilted forward to allow access for four persons. Only 17 were made. A bit more information is offered by Wikipedia.

Retro EV's

Kindred Motorworks offers  three totally restored and converted vehicles. There is the VW bus, three variations of the Ford Bronco and a 3100 (1947-1953) Chevy pickup. They are a bit pricey with a range of $170,000 to $250,000. Have a look at their website: Kindred Motorworks.

After the Spanish civil war there was a shortage of fuel. Spanish automakers explored the possibilities of producing electric cars. In 1946 Construcciones Moviles de Valencia developed this battery electric two door taxi prototype. The vehicle never went into production and the prototype is lost to history.
