The Atherstone Hunt has been held for 200 years.  They are being led here by Huntsman Stuart Barton in Bosworth (nice boots, Stu).  Members pay a subscription to participate in the hunt on 400 square miles of ground in Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire.

Water Festival

The Songkran festival is celebrated in Thailand as the traditinal New Year's Day.  It coincides with the New Year of many calendars of South and Southeast Asia.  It is the longest celebration in the country.  Street parties, family reunions and friendly water fights are all combined, make Songkran the grandest and most colorful event.

The dark side of the festival is highway carnage.  This year's festival (April 9-15) has recorded 121 deaths and 1251 injuries from road accidents in just the first three days of the "seven dangerous days".  Police report the major cause of the accidents is intoxication and speeding.

 It can only be described as rough and rusty but that has not been a problem for eBay bidders who would like to own it.  With five days left it is currently at $39,400.  Numerous high resolution photos that only confirm just how bad it really is can be viewed here.

Edit:  This car sold on April 12th for $49,000.

1955 Bambino 200

The German Fuldamobil was built under license in the Netherlands.  The 2 cycle engine was in the rear of the car and had a displacement of 200cc.  It could reach a speed of 49mph.

Transformation

In a 12 day period this lackluster building in Germany was converted to a colorful addition to the street.  The artist, Marina Zumi, was invited to participate in a festival called "All You Can Paint". See the results of  her efforts here.
